The InnereSource Modality | Somato-Spiritual Clearing
The Modality

The Body Holds More Than the Mind Remembers.

A somato-spiritual method for clearing what has been carried — and reclaiming what it has been obscuring.

Foundational Ethos

What InnereSource Is

InnereSource is a somato-spiritual modality — a precise, body-based approach to releasing the biological load that accumulates in the nervous system, tissue, and energetic field over a lifetime of living.

It is not a talking therapy, and it is not a mindfulness practice. It works at the level where held material actually lives: in the body itself, below the reach of narrative and insight.

The premise is simple, and it is confirmed by peer-reviewed science: the body holds unprocessed material as biological charge — encoded in fascia, tissue, and the nervous system. That held charge carries a continuous metabolic cost. Clearing it does not just remove a burden. It restores the energy that has been spent maintaining the suppression for years, sometimes decades.

What becomes available when that holding finally releases is not simply the absence of weight. It is the return of something that was there long before the holding began: genuine vitality, presence, and access to the Source — the creative intelligence at the core of every organism, never absent, only obscured.

The Name

Inner · e · Source

Each segment of the name carries a precise meaning. This is not a stylised spelling.

Inner

The Body & Its Field

Held as one thing, not two. Where material is stored, the energetic field contracts or sits beside the body rather than fully inhabiting it. As clearing deepens, field and body realign — and the field expands.

e

Energy

Not metaphorical. Not only the charge of difficult experience — the energy at the root of everything. Moving freely in its unencumbered state; deposited into tissue and the nervous system when it cannot be fully processed.

Source

Capital S. Never Decorative.

Not a resource the practitioner supplies. The creative, organising intelligence present at the core of every organism — never absent, only obscured. InnereSource works toward Source itself: not a stronger self, but an unobstructed one.

Where the Work Lives

The Body as Archive

The body holds material not only in memory and emotion, but as biological charge — encoded in tissue, fascia, and the nervous system. The deepest, oldest held material settles into the lower body: the legs, hips, pelvis, and sacral base. The upper body braces to contain it there — in a tight chest, a braced diaphragm, carrying shoulders, a held jaw.

This accumulation has a cost. The biological and energetic resources spent on that holding — hour after hour, year after year — are not available for living. This is what InnereSource calls the energy economy: not a metaphor, but a measurable metabolic reality confirmed by research into allostatic load.

The work begins where the holding is deepest, and moves upward through the vessel — the whole three-dimensional body from legs to crown — from the most suppressed toward the most vital and alive.

Independent Scientific Confirmation

Neurobiologist Gert Holstege mapped direct descending pathways from the brainstem's periaqueductal grey terminating at the sacral spinal cord — anatomical confirmation of the sacrum's role as physiological gateway. Kearney and Lanius (2022, Frontiers in Neuroscience) documented measurable uninhabited body areas in those carrying chronic load — regions of the body from which the self has effectively withdrawn. Both findings arrived after what clinical work in the treatment room had already been observing for years.

The Process

Three Movements, One Arc

Sequential, but not separate. Each opens the next. A single session may move through all three, at many depths.

01

The Releasing

Held material dissolves, unwinds, depolarises, completes. Not directed by the practitioner — the body knows how to do this when the conditions are right. Precise somatic attention at the right location, at the right pace, is what creates those conditions. What the body initiates, it also knows how to finish.

02

The Inhabiting

As charge releases, the self flows back into the space that has opened. Areas that were held at a distance — numb, defended, apparently absent — begin to come back online. This is not a metaphor: research now documents measurable uninhabited body areas that recover as the underlying load clears.

03

The Enlivening

What was obscured by the holding becomes perceptible: energy, vitality, creative agency, genuine desire. This is not the result of adding something new. It is the natural state of a system that no longer needs to spend its resources on containment. Source — the intelligence at the core — becomes accessible.

Who This Is For

You may recognise this

InnereSource is not a single-issue approach. The people who find their way to this work carry different histories and different presentations — but something in the following tends to resonate.

This work is somato-spiritual in nature. It is not a substitute for medical or clinical mental health care, and is offered as a complementary approach.

  • You have done talking therapy, mindset work, or meditation — and something still hasn't shifted.
  • You carry a persistent sense of weight, flatness, or depletion that doesn't respond to rest.
  • Parts of your body feel absent, numb, or hard to access — even when you try to inhabit them.
  • You experience chronic physical tension — particularly in the legs, hips, pelvis, jaw, or shoulders — that has no clear structural cause.
  • You know there is more aliveness, more presence, more capacity available to you — and you are ready to do the work to reach it.
  • You are a high-performer who has built capacity and achievement at a sustained biological cost.
  • You are on a genuine spiritual path and seeking work that meets you at the level of the body, not only the mind.
The Evidence

The Work Came First. The Science Confirms It.

InnereSource was not built from research. It emerged from direct clinical observation across thousands of hours of hands-on work. The peer-reviewed science arrived later — as independent confirmation of what the body had already been demonstrating in the room.

Holstege — Sacral Hardwiring

Direct descending pathways from the brainstem terminate at S2–S4. The sacrum is neurologically hardwired as the gateway for the body's survival load — anatomically confirming the sacral-origin approach of InnereSource.

Kearney & Lanius (2022)

Research published in Frontiers in Neuroscience documents measurable uninhabited body areas following chronic stress — the neurological basis for what InnereSource has observed clinically as vacancy, and The Inhabiting works to restore.

Allostatic Load — McEwen & Stellar

The cumulative metabolic cost of a system that never fully returns to baseline. A 2010 meta-analysis confirmed it predicts illness and mortality beyond standard measures. Clearing held charge restores the energy budget spent on suppression.

Somatic Experiencing — Clinical Trials

The closest empirically-tested modality to InnereSource in its foundational principles. RCT evidence (Brom et al., 2017) shows large effect sizes for PTSD reduction — the strongest available evidence base for this category of work.

Barreiros — The Somatic Engram

Barreiros (2026), Cureus, PMC12906688. The Somatic Engram and reversal of allostatic load via reconsolidation — the most direct scientific echo of InnereSource's clinical claim that tissue-level release produces permanent, not merely temporary, change.

Spinal Conduction Speeds — The Measured Arc

Fields, H.L. (2004). State-dependent opioid control of pain. Nature Reviews Neuroscience. Basbaum, A.I. & Jessel, T.M. (2013). Principles of Neural Science, Chapter 24. A-delta fibre conduction at 5–30 m/s and C-fibre conduction at 0.5–2 m/s — the neurophysiological account of the ascending arc's two-to-five-second window.
